CHOOSING A NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

It is important to choose a newborn photographer not only with experience and skill, but with a caring heart and gentle touch. My top priority is always the safe handling and posing of your newborn.

My "newborn flow" ensures that baby is transitioned from one pose to another, naturally and comfortably. My goal is to document your new bundle of joy and capture all the itty-bitty details that make them perfect.

In addition, you will receive an email prior to the session with tips on how you can prepare yourself and baby.

"The days are long, but the years are short."

PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE

My style of photography is "posed" newborn photography which focuses mostly on captures of the baby looking perfect, usually in blankets, wraps, headbands and hats.   I also incorporate adorable props.  From simple setups to fun and unique themes, I always capture the baby's cute little details.  I also enjoy incorporating keepsakes that are special to the family.

THE PROCESS

Detail Portaits

My session flow typically starts with what I call "base shots".  These are close-up photos on a large bean bag, specifically for newborn posing, on a solid backdrop. Baby is transitioned from one pose to another, safely and slowly.

These poses are meant to capture all of the little details - cute dimples, big beautiful eyes, full lips or a great head of hair, my goal is to capture the beauty and uniqueness of your little one.

Perfectly Posed in a Prop

Then, I change baby into an outfit or swaddle for posing in a beautifully arranged prop setup, which can include a bed prop, bucket, princess carriage or many of the other cute props we have in the studio. Colors and props can be a simple neutral setup, to a seasonal or even fun theme!

THE FUN STUFF

PARENTS & SIBLINGS

Guided Poses for Parents and Siblings

If you've booked the package that includes parents and siblings, baby will be perfectly swaddled, and I will guide everyone through posing to capture these memories.  Don't worry moms, we know you are postpartum... portraits will be waist up for the most flattering angles :)
